Join us for a heartwarming afternoon dedicated to the timeless art of Ukrainian embroidery, a tradition rich with symbolism and storytelling. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned stitcher, this workshop invites you to slow down, create something meaningful, and experience the meditative rhythm of needle and thread.
 
You’ll learn classic cross-stitch techniques and explore traditional Ukrainian motifs — from the bold geometric designs of the Carpathian Mountains to the soft florals of Poltava. Each stitch carries a story of identity, protection, and love, passed down through generations of Ukrainian women who embroidered not just for beauty, but for peace of mind and spirit.
 
At the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own embroidered keepsake - a fabric you’ve hand-stitched with the pattern of your choice. Choose to work on the provided cotton-linen towel or napkin, or bring your own favorite garment to personalize.
 
Each participant will receive a complete embroidery kit, including:
• Embroidery hoop
• 100% cotton/linen tea towel or napkin (or bring your own garment!)
• Needle
• Thread
• Scissors
• Pattern sample
 
Light Ukrainian refreshments will be served as we stitch, share stories, and connect through the beauty of craft. Come be part of a creative community preserving culture, one stitch at a time.
 
A portion of proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA), a nonprofit supporting humanitarian aid and the preservation of Ukrainian culture and heritage.
